Moon Express

MOON Express is a map-making, solo/cooperative 'grid-crawl' RPG where you construct a railroad on a dream-like interpretation of the moon.

Taking place in the mid-1800s, you play as a group of working-class railway workers whose job is to explore and route a path to a moon colony. Starting on the landing camp, you will use grid paper, playing cards, and dice to generate the fantastical landscape of the moon. Using building materials, you can also construct camps and outposts and starter settlement along the way.

Inspired by Georges Méliès' Trip to the Moon and the Great Moon Hoax of 1835, this is a dream-like interpretation of the moon where science is replaced by magic and the moon is populated by strange creatures and alien fauna. Besides the rocket, all the technology and culture are limited to what is common before the year 1899.
